Mt. Washington Hotel
We were asked by the NH Court Reporters to come and do an investigation then a lecture in October. We jumped at the chance to investigate the infamous hotel!BACKGROUND: Click here for the history surrounding the Mt. Washington Hotel
The investigation:
BASE READINGS:
Temperature
North Tower: 79 F w/ fluctuations up to 84 F
Main Entrance: 73F
Gold Room: 76 F Room 314: (this is where the Princess' bed is. Unfortunately the room was occupied the day we went.
EMF & K-II
North Tower: Steady 4.8mG Main Entrace: Nothing on EMF K-II had several blips around various pieces of furniture Gold Room: Nothing reacted at all.
Humidity: Normal
WALKTHROUGHS:
We decided not to conduct walkthroughs on this particular investigation although as Beckah walked through the hotel, impressions could not be denied. She felt the presence of a male, she stated he was "of great importance" and he kept saying "1905" Beckah assumed he was indicating the year although he was not clear with the correlation. We found him up in the North Tower, which used to be servants quarters.
Lead Investigator's Reports:
Katie: "We conducted several different vigils. While up in the North Tower where the workers used to live there were several rooms that I felt had a very negative feeling to it. At one point I thought I saw someone standing in one of the doorways (this was caught on tape), also at one point I was walking down the hall and I heard someone running up behind me. When Laurie and I first went down to the pool during the historical tour. I had a profound feeling of discomfort, almost like I wasn't safe. The North Tower seemed to be the most active area, the rest of the hotel seemed really comfortable to me. Although while walking the hall on the 3rd floor headed to room 314 we did see a door open and close on it's own. It was one of the seperating doors. We got mild responses from a female, although everyone at the hotel believes it is the spirit of the Princess I cannot completely agree that she is causing all of the activity. I think there are a few different spirits there, we did get an EVP of a male, who Beckah also picked up on."
Beckah: "There was a heck of a lot going on at the Mt. Washington Hotel, we met a wonderful man named Fred he is head of security at the hotel. He told us some fabulous stories about various experiences guests and workers have had at the hotel. Although the stories were wonderful I would have loved to have heard them from those who had the contact with the spirit. He took us on top of the hotel (literally) being afraid of heights and standing on that roof was not one of my favorite moments, but still hearing this master storyteller go to work was a pleasure. We stayed predominantly in the North Tower as we noticed a lot of activity in the area. At one point I saw someone peeking out of one of the closets just as the MEL meter spiked to 9.9mG from 5.0mG. Laurie and I stayed in one area of the North Tower while Katie went to another part of the tower, there Laurie and I started an EVP session. When we got back and listened to the tape there were some great responses. I was not with Katie and Laurie when they took the historical tour although it was offered. I didn't know anything about the building and we all agreed to keep it that way. The man in the North Tower was frustrating to say the least, he would give a little information then get tightlipped. I think we went through the cycle about three or four times before I finally decided to move on to something else. We walked all around the hotel and in most places I found a sense of comfort and well being. I did feel though that there were many spirits at the hotel, people who loved to stay and work there. I do believe I met the princess in the North Tower during a glass divination and K-II session. Although it seemed as though she had a lot on her mind, it was as though she was still responsible for the happiness of her guests and her energy was all over the place. All in all I think it was a good investigation. With a few intelligent responses, I feel there is a heck of a lot of residual energy left in the place but it is to the hotel's benefit to keep it there."
